Berlin CSD Voters Approve $26.2 Million Budget; Elect Two Board Members
On May 17, 2023, Berlin School District voters approved the district’s $26,272,953 2023-24 budget proposal, elected two Board of Education members, and approved the purchase of one school bus, one suburban and one minivan.
The budget proposition passed by 66% with 139 Yes votes and 70 No votes. This is for the 2023-2024 budget of $26,272,953. It represents an increase of 1.95% in the tax levy.
Purchase of one (1) school bus (66 seats), one (1) suburban (30 seats),
and one (1) minivan at a total cost not to exceed $300,000.
153 Yes votes; 56 No votes
Board of Education Election
Two candidates sought re-election to two open board of education seats.
Derrick Gardner: 171 votes
Frank J. Zwack: 134 votes

Berlin CSD voters approve $25.9 million budget; elect three board members
On May 17, Berlin School District voters approved the district’s $25.9 million 2022-23 budget proposal, elected three board of education members and approved the purchase of three new buses.
The budget proposition passed by 68% with 214 yes votes and 100 no votes. This is for a $25,974,187 budget for the 2022-23 school year that carries a 1.99% tax levy increase.
Purchasing three new 66 passenger school buses at a total cost not to exceed $405,000: 222 yes; 93 no
Board of Education Election
Four candidates sought election to three open board of education seats.
Jeffrey Paine: 148 votes
Sherry Bowman-Kluck: 226 votes
Kimberly Collen: 217 votes
Andrea Beckwith: 245 votes

2020-2021 Budget Information
On Tuesday, June 16, residents of the Berlin Central School District approved the $21,897,649 budget for the 2020-2021 school year by a vote of 712 (yes) to 442 (no). The Bus Proposition passed by a vote of 683 (yes) to 470 (no), and Derrick Gardner (882 votes) and Frank Zwack (842 votes) were elected to the Board of Education.
