Below are the parameters for our 175 gallon reef tank.
- Temp. The temperature should be between 78 and 80 degrees F
- pH: The pH should be between 7.9 and 8.2
- ORP: The oxidation reduction potential is, roughly speaking, the ability of the water to facilitate the breakdown of wastes such as nirate and ammonia. ORP values between 300 and 400mv are common for our system.
- Salinity: The salinity is the amount of dissolved solids (salts) suspended in the water. The salinity should be close to 35ppt (35 parts per thousand or 3.5%) Large swings in salinity are detrimental to the health of the organisms.
