Why are we getting this early snow? I have a feeling it will get worse when winter actually arrives! This winter will certainly play havoc with our school calendar in the spring season. After looking at several long-range predictions and considering our geographic location and terrain, we will likely use more than the allotted 7 snow days.
This year, the Berlin CSD has contracted with an outside agency to provide more options and opportunities for families who are facing challenges with getting their students to schools, or who may need assistance and support when dealing with challenging situations. Mediation Matters is an independent organization that can help to facilitate all sorts of conversations that might otherwise be difficult to have.

Congratulations to the Berlin Elementary students who were chosen as the winners of the CAP COM Fire Prevention Week Drawing contest, and received a $25 VISA gift card.This year’s theme was “Look. Listen. Learn.” Students were asked to draw a picture of how you would use your eyes, ears and nose to spot a fire, then alert others.
The Afterschool Enrichment Program at Berlin Elementary kicked off earlier this month with 100 elementary students registering to participate in hands on safety activities. Students rotated through stations including: Compressions, Foreign objects in eyes, ears, nose, How to treat burns and bee stings, Making a First Aid Kit and more.
