Thank you to the Berlin Elementary School community for donating to the food drive hosted by the BES Ambassadors. Mrs. Peter-Hoen and Mrs. Ruebel are excited to announce that the total number of items donated was 864 items!
Congratulations to the winning classroom, Mrs. Walsh’s Fifth grade with 173 items! They will receive a classroom party hosted by the BES Ambassadors!
The BES Ambassadors went and delivered the items to the Berlin Food Closet on Friday, December 15th. During their visit students helped food pantry director, Ms. Dianne Mosher and the Berlin Food Closet volunteers sort and date all the donated items. The Mountaineers learned about how essential the support of the food closest and all community pantries are to the BCSD community.
The ambassadors also helped pack holiday meal boxes with the volunteers.

Thank you to the Berlin Middle High School community for donating to the can food drive hosted by the BMHS Student Council.
It was a success with a total 1,182 items donated! Congratulations to the Junior class, who was given a run by the 6th graders but came out on top, with a total of 404 items collected! The Juniors will receive a breakfast party after the break.
On December 20th, BHS student council members and BHS Student Council Advisors Mr. Ellis and Mr. Covell took a trip to the Berlin Food Closest to drop off the donations. The students helped to sort and date all the items donated under the guidance of Berlin Food Closest Director, Mrs. Dianne Mosher.
Mrs. Mosher let the students know that their donated items, as well as the items recently donated by BES, will be shared throughout the school district. Mrs. Mosher has invited members from the Stephentown and Grafton food pantries to come to the Berlin Food Closest after the holidays to pick up a share of the items donated through the school drives.
Mrs. Mosher would also like to thank the community for their donations and remind those who donate items to please check the expiration dates on all donations.
Thank you to the BCSD Transportation Department for helping to load, deliver and unload the items for both trips.
