December’s character traits at BES are empathy, being able to understand how someone feels, and compassion, wanting to help someone or something in need. During the month of December Mountaineers have been participating in a pet supply drive for the humane society hosted by the first grade, and a canned food drive for their local pantry hosted by the BES Ambassadors.

Over the past two month BES Mountaineers have been doing an excellent job showing they are responsible and safe, October’s character traits, and gratitude, the character trait for the month of November.

Mountaineers who consistently modeled the traits of being responsible and safe and of gratitude were selected by their classroom teachers to receive the monthly Character Counts awards for November and December.

Congratulations Mountaineers!

Principal Kent and Assistant Principal Cataldo draw ten merit recipients (five from kindergarten to second grade and five from third to fifth grade) each month to receive recognition and a prize at the conclusion of each assembly.
