Today students at Berlin Elementary School in Kindergarten through 4th grade “moved up” for a visit to the grade level they will be heading into next school year. The 5th grade students visited the Kindergarten Team to reminisce on their time at BES and had an impromptu dance party. 🙂
During the “moving up” time, the first through fifth grade teams gave presentations to the students about goals, expectations and the learning the Mountaineers will embark on next school year. It was a special opportunity for students to ask questions and for the teachers and their future students to share in the excitement of moving up together.
Berlin Elementary classroom placements will be sent home by email during the summer, so please keep an eye out for an email from BES.
On June 8th, the fifth grade Mountaineers had a chance to spend the day alongside BMS sixth graders. The students started their day shadowing 6th graders in their core classes. They listened to a musical performance by the 6th grade chorus and were taken on a tour of the building by 6th grade student council members. Fifth graders also had an opportunity to meet BMHS Principal Mrs. Brownell.
Thank you to the fifth and sixth grade teams for collaborating each year during the last few months of school to help with the students’ transition from Berlin Elementary to the Berlin Middle High School.
