The Berlin Central School District is pleased to welcome Mrs. Jodi Cataldo as Berlin Elementary School’s Assistant Principal.

“I am excited to have Jodi join the team at Berlin Elementary,” said Berlin Elementary Principal Ms. Tracy Kent. “Jodi rose to the top after multiple rounds of interviews with a committee that consisted of parents, paraprofessionals, and teachers.”

“Jodi Cataldo was outstanding in our interview process and comes to Berlin with excellent credentials and recommendations,” said Berlin CSD’s Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Joseph Dhara. “We are very happy to have Jodi join us as the Assistant Principal at BES and contribute to the positive culture at the school.”

BES Principal Kent is encouraged by Mrs. Cataldo’s experience prior to joining the BCSD Administrative Team. “Jodi brings with her many strengths, including her instructional background, understanding student strengths and weaknesses, behavior management, and a positive attitude.”

“I look forward to working with her to continue to grow and strengthen the programs at Berlin Elementary.”

I have the privilege of filling the role of Assistant Principal at Berlin Elementary School. I am honored to be in this position and look forward to working with Mrs. Kent and the staff at BES to make this a great year.

I have spent the past eight years teaching 1st grade at Turnpike Elementary School (Troy, NY) and served on a number of committees during this time. I also taught Kindergarten, 4th grade and Middle School Response to Intervention (RTI).

I completed my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education at the College of Saint Rose and earned my master’s degree in Reading from the University of Albany.  To complement these degrees, I recently completed the School Building Leadership (SBL) and School District Leadership (SDL) programs at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

On a more personal note, my husband, Sean, and I enjoy spending time with our four children. In our free time we like exploring different hiking trails, paddle boarding and visiting national parks.  Additionally, I enjoy reading, playing golf, volunteering in my community and cheering for my kids on the soccer field.  I am excited to become part of the Berlin community!

I look forward to meeting all students and families this coming school year!

Welcome Mrs. Cataldo!
