Thank you to the Berlin Community Food Closet volunteers and coordinator Mrs. Dianne Mosher for providing a Summer Lunch Program for students and families in need residing in the Berlin Central School District. The Berlin Community Food Closest is helping to support 47 children from the 23 families enrolled. 

This past Saturday was the first pick up for the eight week program. Each week families pick up a five gallon pail filled with lunch making supplies. The themes this summer are Camping, Italian, Aloha, Christmas in July, Beach, Fiesta, Baseball and Breakfast for lunch. 

The Berlin Community Food Closet is grateful for the support the community has shown for this program. If you are interested in making a donation,  the Food Closet is looking for- fresh fruits and vegetables as well as fresh eggs. Please see the numbers below to find out their specific needs.

 Volunteers pack buckets each Saturday morning at the Berlin Food Closet located at the Methodist Church in Berlin beginning at 8 am, Pick up for families is 9-10 am. Please note families need to reside in the Berlin Central School District to enroll.

Summer EBT Information

Beginning in 2024, New York State will launch Summer EBT, a new program that provides low-income families with food benefits to help cover the cost of groceries when school is out of session. Summer is the time when many children lose access to free meals they get at school. Most eligible children will receive Summer EBT food benefits automatically; however, some families may need to apply. This program is through New York State and not the school district please find more information at the link below.
