BNL Varsity Track and Field News
Over the past two weeks we’ve seen some team records broken.
Tyler Carinci broke the triple jump record a week ago and has improved it twice since then. He also set the javelin record this past Saturday.
On the girls side Vivian Whelan has also set the javelin record.
Big congrats to them both!

BNL Track and Field vs. Granville & St. Lawarence (4/27)
The BNL Varsity Track and Field team had a successful weekend of competition! Half the team went to the Blue and Gold Invitational in Granville, where Joey Zvirdzin placed 5th in the 3200 meter run, and Elaine Savaria placed in the 3000 meter and 1500 meter runs.
Meanwhile, the other half of the team went all the way up to the St. Lawrence Showcase at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, where BNL found large successes as well. Tyler Carinci placed in the triple jump and high jump, and has been setting new program records in triple jump over the past couple of weeks. Eben Donohue and Madison Prusky both placed in the pentathlon, Tallulah Powers placed in shot put, while Holly White placed in the discus and shot put. Vivienne Powers placed in the 400 meter hurdles.
All in all, lots of personal bests were broken and strong performances were put in by the whole team across the weekend. The team is about the halfway point in the season and is starting to look to league and sectional championships in late May. – Coach
