In March the BMHS Character Education Committee held a school-wide assembly to talk about the important characteristics of perseverance and empathy.

Perseverance is defined as a continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition. This Merriam-Webster definition was elaborated on through trivia and famous examples of perseverance during the assembly. The BMHS Character Education Committee also asked each grade level team to nominate Mountaineers who have demonstrated outstanding perseverance during the school year. Please find a list of the students who received a perseverance award below.

Empathy is defined as the action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experience of another. This definition was elaborated on by the BHS Super Troopers through a videos.  Please find the Super Troopers’ video here.
