The Berlin-New Lebanon Boys Modified soccer team ended their season on a high note on the road and in the cold, defeating Tamarac 2-1.

BNL took the lead in the first half behind a strong footed goal by Jack Hart, assisted by Markell Popov.  Tamarac quickly recovered and scored a goal of their own.

In the second half, both BNL and Tamarac picked up the tempo and played more aggressively.  Both sides pressed the offensive attack and needed strong play from their defense.  Jack Healy made big save after big save while Braydin Yerdon, Joseph Zvirzdin, and Zeke Colin cleared ball after ball.  The BNL offense found their opening about three minutes into the fourth quarter.  Cody Ozga hit Lukas Zuke with a precision pass in front of the goal which Zuke one-timed into the net, lifting BNL to a 2-1 lead.  Tamarac never mounted a serious offensive attack for the remainder of the game, and the final whistle sounded with BNL deep in the offensive zone threatening another goal of their own.

BNL finishes on a five game winning streak, playing their best ball of the season along the way.  They end with a record of 9-2-1, and were legitimately never truly out of a game or outmatched by any opponent.  Over the course of the season, the offense put up 38 goals while the defense only allowed 20 to opponents, with goalkeepers for BNL managing an impressive 81% save rate.

“It has been a great honor to coach these boys and watch them grow individually and as a team.  The Berlin and New Lebanon communities have a really strong group of players here that they can rally around and enjoy watching compete for years to come.” – Coach Moseley
