Coming off a hard fought win the night prior, the BNL girls varsity soccer team opened up to a 2-0 record after beating Salem the following Saturday 6-1. Jessica Bosso opened the scoring ten or so minutes into the first half after receiving a cross from Katelyn Miller. Salem would equalize within the next five minutes to make it a tie game. Some tough 50-50 play made the game tight for a period, before Rilynn Jones scored her first goal of the season to make it 2-1. Lora Acquario would add a goal of her own right before half after an effective crossing ball from Rilynn Jones. Berlin-New Lebanon held strong in the second half, controlling much more of the middle third of the pitch. Lora would add another goal for herself, and Madison Bell would add her first goal of the season off of Haylee Jones assist. Lora Acquario would add her third goal of the game completing a hat trick off of a Tallulah Powers cross just before the final buzzer, to finish the game 6-1. The girls return to the game pitch next Tuesday with an away trip to Tamarac on 9/13.

BNL Girls Varsity Soccer vs Taconic Hills 9/9

The BNL Girls Varsity Soccer team opened their season with a 7-0 win over Taconic Hills in the home Berlin-New Lebanon Soccer Tournament. Lizzy Hunt opened the scoring early in the first half putting a shot over the keeper, and Tatum Kells soon added a second; both early goals off a Lora Acquario assist. Jessica Bosso added a third goal to open her account for the season, midway through the first half. The BNL team held strong in the middle of the park, with Haylee Jones scoring a goal off of a Madison Bell assist. Haylee would go on to add another goal in the second half, in addition to another goal from Lizzy Hunt off of another Lora Acquario assist. Lora would score the final goal of the game in the second half.
