Some of the most educational and best parts of a student’s academic experience come from going on field trips to new places, and having new experiences with their peers. This year our Berlin Middle/High School Student Council went to Boston. Our trip started at the Boston Aquarium to see different types of fish, penguins, and a variety of marine animals. Students also got a chance to touch live sharks and rays in their touch tanks. Students chose an Imax movie to watch before having lunch in the city of Boston.

Our day continued with casual walking around Quincy Market, and then the Freedom Trail, to see sites like Faneuil Hall and the Old South Meeting House. We had a big group dinner at the Hard Rock Café where students relaxed their feet from the hours of walking. Students were later entertained about the history of Boston from the walking Ghost Tours before heading back to a hotel for the night.

The following morning the students headed back to the Boston Duck Tours. Students learned more about the history of Boston before coming back for lunch and shopping around the Prudential Center, and then boarded the bus to head home. The students, teachers, and chaperones had a wonderful time touring Boston and can’t wait to start planning our next trip!
