The Checkpoint door decorating contest hosted by the BMHS Character Education Committee was a relationship and school pride building activity that all the students at BMHS participated in over the last two weeks. During their first Checkpoint meeting students were shown a video created by the Character Education Committee to inspire and explain the competition. See the video here

The second video below was done by the Committee as well to announce the winners. A big thank you to the BMHS PTO for taking time to help judge the door contest and the BMHS Character Education Committee for their fun videos and their work on building Mountaineer Spirit.

This year BMHS Checkpoint meetings will take place once a week. It is a time for small groups of students to connect one-on-one with a teacher, review their current grades and create academic goals. Checkpoint meetings will be Wednesdays and are built into the last 25 minutes of the school day. Students will still have all of their classes that day, on an adjusted schedule. BMHS’s goal with this time is to offer another layer of support to our students and help them feel a stronger sense of belonging to our school community.

Congratulations to Ms. Day’s Checkpoint Door Contest Winners!
