Boys JV Soccer vs Waterford

The JV boys soccer team opened with a 3-1 win over Waterford on the road 4/12 night. Good team play set up the first 2 scoring runs coming directly from the back defensive line.  Play was tight as BNL held onto a 1 point lead, until the last 20 minutes when the 2 strikers worked the ball past the Waterford defense to give us our 3rd goal.  Kristjon Culbertson had 10 saves in goal and was helped by a strong defensive game by his 5 backs.  Gabe Hart’s midfield work helped Chris Shorter get 2 goals and 1 assist and Liam Buckingroth’s 1 goal.  The boys are home Thursday. -Coach Ms. Burhans

JV Boys Soccer
The JV boys soccer team opened at home with an impressive win over Mechanicsville 4-1. BNL scored 4 goals before the 20 minute break and held the Red Raiders scoreless until the last 3 minutes. Chris Shorter got 2 fast goals from deep in the box, followed by Logan Healy and Liam Buckingroth.  Liam and Logan’s dominant midfield play held through 60 minutes. BNL packed their defensive half and held on for the win.  Kristjon Culbertson stepped up his game, ignoring the wet ,muddy  field and shut down anything in his box.  Kristjon had over 20 saves including a PK and numerous corner kicks.  He was the heart of the defense. His throws and kicks to midfield  allowed the offense to get deep into the other half fast.  -Coach Burhans
