TRANSPORTATION UPDATE 3/11/24 – This message was emailed to all BNL Families on 3/11/24
We just wanted to update you on what the start of this week will look like for Varsity and JV sports. We have had some roadblocks (literally speaking) that have made creating the first few weeks of the practice schedule a bit tricky. This week, Varsity Softball (tryouts) and Varsity Track & Field will be practicing at Berlin Middle/High School from 3pm-4:30pm all next week. V/JV Baseball (tryouts) will be at Walter B. Howard Elementary School in New Lebanon from 3pm-4:15pm(5pm).
Our transportation departments have been dealing with a detour on Route 22 that has added an additional 10-15 minutes to the normal travel time between the schools. We have been told that the detour should only be until around April 1st . With that being said:
- Berlin students going to WBH take the shuttle bus from Berlin @ 2:10pm to WBH and will be brought back to Berlin in time for the 4:45pm late runs, if needed. Student athletes that do not need the late buses, have the option to stay until 5pm as long as they have their own transportation.
- New Lebanon students going to Berlin take the shuttle bus from NL @ 2:30pm to Berlin and will be brought back to NL high school for parent pickup around 5pm.
- There will be no sports shuttle on 3/15/24 due to both districts having Conference Days, All athletes will need to be self-transported this day.
Any issues or delays that may arise will be communicated as soon as possible. More correspondence will come next week as we prepare for the modified season to begin on March 18th. We appreciate the understanding while we navigate the unfortunate situation.
