BNL Varsity Girls Soccer Coach Recap 10/14
The BNL Girls Varsity soccer team finished up their regular season with a competitive 3-2 win over Greenwich Saturday (10/14) afternoon. The Lady Mountain Lions got out to a quick start going up 1-0 in the first five mins when a Haylee Jones through ball found Riley Robertson on the right flank who slotted home the opener at the far post. BNL continued to mount pressure on the Greenwich defense, and added a second when a Haylee Jones corner kick was sent into the back of the net by Vivienne Powers. Greenwich fought hard to get back later in the first half, capitalizing on some good opportunities in and just outside the penalty box to tie the game at 2-2 going into halftime. BNL started the second half strongly, creating chances, as the Greenwich backline and keeper rose to the occasion to stop countless chances. With about six minutes left in the game, Haylee Jones broke through the back line and sent the game winner in the corner of the net to give BNL its most competitive league record in program history.
The BNL Varsity Girls Soccer team (seed #10) will play Bolton-Warrensburg (seed #7) this Friday 10/20 @ 3pm for Sectionals. Come out and cheer them on! – Coach Kanofsky

BNL Varsity Girls Soccer vs Hoosic Valley 10/10
The BNL Girls Varsity Soccer team won on their senior night with a 3-0 home win over Hoosic Valley! The girls dominated the majority of possession throughout the game and were threatening the Hoosic Valley goal from the first whistle. Seniors, Joann Prather, Juliann Amuso, Tallulah Powers, Jessica Bosso, and Ashlee Evans all made strong starts, led by senior keeper Becca Madsen, who kept a clean sheet in goal, and senior captains Riley Robertson and Lizzy Hunt. After almost a dozen shots in the opening twenty minutes, Anna Hart was finally able to open the scoring towards the end of the first half after putting home a deflected shot by Haylee Jones. After halftime, Jones was able to add to the scoring herself, scoring an unassisted goal from an extremely tight angle on the goal line into the upper corner of the net halfway through the second half. Haylee put away the third and final goal of the evening off of a wonderful assist from Riley Robertson. The girls head out to Hoosick Falls on Thursday as they wrap up the end of the regular season! – Coach Kanofsky
