Summer Enrichment 

Attention Families of Fall of 2023 7th & 8th Graders
This is a follow-up to the email that was sent to all 6th and 7th grade parents at the end of the school year regarding summer enrichment camps happening this summer.
There are still a few spots available, if you are interested in signing up your student for one, two or all of the weeks, please fill out the Google form linked below and/or contact Ms. Ferullo at aferullo@berlincentral.org.

Summer Enrichment Program Themes & Dates

 

  • Week 1 – July 10 – 13 – “Living History” – Monday through Wednesday, 8:15 am to 11:45 am, and Thursday from 8:15-3pm
    • Using a living history approach to engage students in a variety of hands-on historical inquiry and analysis learning experiences.

 

  • Week 2 – July 17 – 20 – “Intramural Sports” – Monday through Wednesday 8:15 am to 11:45 am, and Thursday from 8:15-3pm
    • Using sports and fitness to practice physical skills and work on social skills.

 

  • Week 3 – July 24 – 27 – “Culinary Arts” – Monday through Wednesday 8:15 am to 11:45 am, and Thursday from 8:15-3pm
    • Focusing on Farm to Table for ELA activities: building vocabulary, reading skills, and responding to questions. Using recipes to work on following directions and Math skills – multiplication facts, adding and multiplying fractions. Each day culminating with a simple recipe for the students to prepare. Final day will include a field trip to the Buzerak Farm.

 

  • Week 4 – July 31 – August 3 – “Intramural Sports II” – Monday through Wednesday 8:15 am to 11:45 am, and Thursday from 8:15 – 3pm
    • Using sports and fitness to practice physical skills and work on social skills.

 

  • Week 5 – August 7 – 10 – “Museums and VR” – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, AND Thursday 8:15 am to 11:45 am (no late day this week)
    • Students will travel around the world, visit museums, and historical landmarks using the VR headsets. We will wrap up the week with a visit to Mass Moca.

 

Grades 9-12 

Summer School July 10-August 17.  Invites will be sent out after the completion of Regents Exams.
