The BNL JV boys opened their season with a home contest against Greenwich on Tuesday, December 6th. BNL started off hot from the opening tip-off. They played with solid teamwork and individual execution of the game plan throughout the first quarter, leading to a 9-9 tie entering the second quarter. BNL was led with great offensive play from Anthony Ray and Kaleb Sweener. Defensively, Trevor Holtzman, Landon Jaquish, and Jordan Harmon played aggressively and racked up multiple steals, blocks, and rebounds.
“It was a hard fought loss. There are definitely areas we need to improve, but I’m proud of these boys for showing that they absolutely can compete in this league. The final score doesn’t show how close much of the game actually was and how hard these boys played.” – Coach Jaquish
“I agree with everything Coach Jaquish said. I will only add that our starters are ready to compete now, but our bench players are developing quickly and are putting in the work in practice. Our trust in them is growing every day. They’ll get there, sooner rather than later.” – Assistant Coach Moseley
