The BNL Modified Boys Soccer team won their second game against Hoosic Valley in as many days, securing the season sweep, by a score of 4-3.

BNL jumped out to a commanding 3-0 lead in the first half. Jack Hart led BNL in scoring with two goals (assists by Markell Popov and Lukas Zuke) while Markell Popov scored one of his own (assisted by Jack Hart). The defense continued their stellar play, keeping Hoosic Valley to just a handful of first half shots.

Hoosic Valley found a spark in the second half, quickly scoring two goals and cutting BNL’s lead to 3-2. As the game entered the fourth quarter, momentum appeared to be in their favor.

However, with BNL’s lead looking tenuous, Tyler Webster took a pass off an indirect kick from Lukas Zuke and drilled a shot in the net to put BNL up 4-2 with just a few minutes remaining in the contest. Hoosic Valley would soon score their third goal, off a penalty kick, but BNL controlled the flow of the game the rest of the way, keeping the ball deep in Hoosic Valley’s zone as the final seconds ticked off the clock.

With this win, BNL moves to 7-2-1 on the season with two games remaining. BNL travels to Greenwich on Monday, October 17th and closes out the season at Tamarac on Wednesday, October 19th. -Coch Moseley and Coach Crimmel
