The transition to sixth grade and middle school can be an anxious experience for fifth-grade students. In order to facilitate a smooth transition into Middle School, Berlin CSD begins to implement a transition plan at the end of March.

Having a well-planned transition program assists students and their families by providing an overview of what middle school will be like.

On June 9th, the Berlin Elementary School 5th graders visited the middle school and were welcomed with wonderful performances by the high school chamber choir and band in the Berlin Middle High School auditorium.

The students were then introduced to the 6th grade team of teachers, BMHS Principal Mrs. Brownell and BMHS Assistant Principal/Athletic Director Mr. Paravella.

Current 6th graders presented a slideshow of important information and frequently asked questions after Mr. Paravella spoke about the transition to middle school and important points to remember from BCSD’s Code of Conduct.
