Berlin CSD would like to welcome Laura Hunt into her new role as Teaching Assistant in the In-School Suspension (ISS) classroom. Learn more about Ms. Hunt in her own words.

I graduated from Berlin in 2000 and attended Dean College on a sports scholarship majoring in physical education. I then made my way back home to attend The Sage Colleges, finishing my degree and receiving my master’s degree in Leadership in Educational Administration.

I have worked mostly here at the Berlin Middle-High School or in the Berlin community.  I first started coaching my senior year, which is what lead me to choose Physical Education as my major in college. Since then I have coached Berlin JV soccer, modified boys basketball, and softball. I have also worked as a teaching assistant for the Pittsfield School District, summer camp coordinator, and curriculum coordinator at Childcare of the Berkshires, but I always ended up back at Berlin.

I have two amazing children, Dale and Emma who will be starting school next year. We have a dog named Moon, and many fish. Most of my family lives in the area, which is what draws me back to the Berlin community. I have a great support system here with my family and friends.

I serve as secretary for the Berlin Alumni Association, and I try to be involved in as many community events as possible outside of school. My twins are also involved in many different clubs and activities so we keep pretty busy between their schedule and mine. One of my favorite activities right now is watching my kids grow and learn.
