Berlin CSD is seeking an exceptional leader looking to make a commitment to our school community. Our superintendent works in partnership with the Board of Education to support programs and services that reflect the diverse needs of our community. The preferred characteristics of the successful candidate will include:

A passion for public education and an advocate for our students and staff.
Experience as a teacher, building principal, central office administrator or superintendent (and is certified or eligible for state certification as a school district administrator).
Knowledge and experience in all aspects of school leadership and operations including board relations, budget development and management, capital planning, curriculum, and public relations.
A commitment to developing our students’ college, career, and civic skills, including alternatives to the traditional classroom setting.
A proven track record of leadership and success characterized by integrity, trust, and ethical decision-making.
Outstanding communication skills and the willingness to consider diverse perspectives while mediating and resolving conflict when necessary.
Open-minded, approachable and the strength to make difficult decisions.
The ability to recognize, cultivate and retain teaching, administrative, and support staff talent.
A commitment to pursue innovation, creative problem solving and collaboration in achieving the district’s mission and goals and meeting the challenges facing small, rural schools
