SERVICES PROVIDED TO IN-SCHOOL YOUTH ARE NOT INTENDED TO REPLACE SCHOOL PROVIDED TRANSITION SERVICES

Do I qualify for services from FIRE?
Between the ages 16-24 and one of the following statements applies to you
● Graduated with a diploma and meet one of these other requirements
● Did not graduate from high school or exited with a CDOS only
● Enrolled in high school but not attended (for the last 45 days)
● Had an IEP when last attending school
● Read or write below the 8th grade level
● An individual with a disability: as defined by the ADA, a person who has a
physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major
life activities, a person who has a history or record of such an impairment,
or a person who is perceived by others as having such an impairment.
Some examples:
○ Learning
○ Cognitive
○ ASD(Autism Spectrum Disorder)
○ Mental Health(Anxiety, Depression)
○ Cancer, organ transplant
● Pregnant or Parenting
● Currently or have a history of involvement in the justice system (ie. PINS
or Probation)
● Involved in any stage of the foster care system
● Low income household: Anyone in the household having received any one
from the list below within the last 6 months:
■ SNAP
■ TANF
■ SSI
■ Public Assistance
● English as a second language learner(ELA)
● Homeless (staying with friends/family, motel, shelter, on the street)
● Simply need assistance to enter or complete an educational program or secure and hold employment
