Dear Berlin Parents/Guardians,

Over the past two weeks the school district has had multiple Covid cases resulting in many students being quarantined. These cases were from outside the district and the transmission to the best of our knowledge did not happen within the district.

Instruction during the quarantine period is important and we have been working hard on putting together a model for instruction that will best serve the needs of our students during quarantine.

Our goal remains to stay in-person and we are not going to a hybrid model at this time. So the information below applies only to students who are placed in quarantine either by the district or the Department of Health, and for the duration of the quarantine.

Effective Monday, September 20th, if a student is in quarantine, the teacher will offer either synchronous Zoom instruction (takes place at the same time the student has a class), or asynchronous instruction (for example a recorded video) and then the student and the teacher connect on the asynchronous material. The teacher will make the determination for the mode of quarantine instruction.

All Berlin students should have a device from the district by this Friday.

Any student who was in quarantine for certain days this week and/or the last week (when the above model is not in place) will still get the required hours of tutoring for the days that they were quarantined (over the coming days), unless they have already been receiving quarantine instruction from the teachers.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the Superintendent’s office or the building Principals.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
