Dear BNL Student-Athletes and Families,

Welcome to the upcoming athletic season and we are excited to see our student-athletes back participating in the sports they love!!

This season, we are pleased to introduce our new athletic scheduling platform, Aktivate. Families can access team schedules, game information, and updates through the Berlin Middle High School Athletics page on our school website. We encourage you to bookmark the page and check it regularly, as schedules are subject to change throughout the season.

BNL PRACTICE & GAME SCHEDULE

As we begin the year, we would also like to remind all student-athletes and families of a few important expectations:

  • Academic Eligibility: Participation in athletics is a privilege. Student-athletes are expected to meet the requirements outlined in the BNL Academic Eligibility Policy. We encourage all athletes to stay current with their coursework, communicate with their teachers, and seek assistance when needed to remain eligible for participation.

  • Player Expectations: Student-athletes are expected to represent BNL with integrity, respect, and sportsmanship at all times. This includes demonstrating positive behavior toward teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, and spectators while following all team, school, and Section II rules and expectations.

  • Spectator Expectations: We ask all parents, family members, and fans to model exemplary sportsmanship by encouraging all participants, respecting the decisions of officials, supporting coaches and players positively, and helping create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone in attendance. Unsportsmanlike conduct directed toward officials, players, coaches, or other spectators will not be tolerated.

  • Senior banner photos will be taken on August 26th at Berlin from 10 am-noon and August 27th at New Lebanon from 10 am-noon.  If your senior is planning to play a sport this school year, please make sure they get their photo taken on one of those two days. We ask that the seniors wear a solid black shirt for their photo.

Our athletic program is strongest when coaches, athletes, families, and the community work together to create a positive experience for every student. Thank you for your continued support of BNL Athletics. We look forward to an outstanding season and wish all of our teams the very best.

PROCEDURE

The Berlin School Physician will be available on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 starting at 9 am for sports physicals for those Berlin students that cannot get appointments with their primary physician.

Please call or email Michele Corsey, RN-school nurse to schedule an appointment. 518-658-1500 ext. 1061 or mcorsey@berlincentral.org.

Students must be up to date on a physical before they can begin practice. Please note physicals are valid for one year from the date of the exam.

Sports Forms

All students must have an up-to-date physical examination on file in the health office prior to starting practice for each sport season. Physicals are valid for 1 year from the date of examination and to the end of the current sports season. Health examinations from Private Physicians are accepted but must be on the NYSED approved health examination form.

Students who have physicals completed during the summer months should send the updated student health examination form completed by their physician ASAP to their school nurse so their fall registration for school sports can be approved.
