2026 5th Grade Moving On Ceremony | Berlin Central School District

This morning, the fifth-grade Mountaineers were celebrated in a ceremony to mark their transition from Berlin Elementary School to Berlin Middle High School. The students’ families and friends gathered in the BES gymnasium for the celebration.

The 5th-grade team: Mrs. Christine Walsh, Mr. Kris Moseley, Mrs. Laura Masterson, and Mr. Matt Turetsky were very proud of the class of 2033’s growth throughout the school year.

Berlin Elementary School Principal Mrs. Jodi Cataldo welcomed the students, their families, and friends to the ceremony. Also in attendance were Superintendent Ken Rizzo and Board of Education Members Mrs. Kim Collen and Ms. Elaine Smith, who enjoyed celebrating and supporting the Mountaineers during this significant milestone.

Berlin Middle High School Principal Mr. David Bernsley addressed the future middle school Mountaineers, welcoming them to the next chapter of their education and expressing excitement about helping to transition the students to Berlin Middle High School.

The fifth-grade band students performed under the direction of BES Band teacher Ms. Rhianna Baker. The entire 5th grade moved the audience with their emotional vocal performance under the direction of BES Music and Chorus teacher Mrs. Kat Labnon.
