Dear Berlin CSD Community,
I would like to make our school community aware of an event that could cause alarm and concern. Tomorrow, May 29th, Berlin Middle High School will stage an educational mock accident, from 9:00 – 10:00 am in the middle high school parking lot. This event is part of Prom Promise for students in grades 11 and 12.
The Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office will be in front of the school to ensure safety with passing traffic on Route 22. Emergency vehicles and first responders will also be on the scene at the middle high school to simulate the accident. Upon completion, students will return to the auditorium for a complete debriefing. The event is expected to be fully concluded by 11:30 am.
The district would like to thank School Resource Officer Deputy DaLessio for coordinating this event and her dedication to ensuring Mountaineers are safe and responsible. The prom will follow later in the evening at Liberty Ridge Farm starting at 7pm.
We appreciate the community’s continued support and wish our students attending the Prom a memorable and safe experience.
Sincerely,
Kenneth Rizzo
Superintendent of Schools
