On Thursday, April 30th, Berlin Middle High School Counselors Savanna Caldwell and James Taylor-Shaw attended the Northeast Construction Trades Workforce Coalition Annual School Counselor Workshop.
Ms. Caldwell and Mr. Shaw toured the North Atlantic States Carpenters Local #291 union training center, met union trades, and explored career pathways. They networked with local college representatives, heard a parent testimonial, and listened to industry guest speakers discuss the growing trades industry and how school counselors can guide students towards it.
Ms. Caldwell and Mr. Shaw brought back information about local trades unions and made contacts with union representatives willing to meet with students and parents at Berlin CSD.
