In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, the Berlin Elementary, Middle, and High School STARS classrooms will be hosting an Autism Awareness Spirit Week!

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), ‘Despite international human rights conventions, autistic people still face stigma, discrimination, and barriers to participation.’ WHO continues, ‘Evidence shows that early identification, inclusive education, and nurturing care in families and communities can significantly improve health, well-being, and participation.’
Learn more about nurturing care from the World Health Organization here https://berlincentral.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/WHO-Importance-of-Nutring-Care.pdf or visit their website to find more information and resources https://www.who.int/news-room/events/detail/2026/04/02/default-calendar/world-autism-awareness-day-2026.
