Attention BCSD families of students in grades K-8th grade: Please review the following details and take advantage of a great opportunity for dental care at school. Find more details in a message below from Healthy Capital District below.
Healthy Capital District (HCD) is working with Whitney M. Young Jr. Health Services and your school district, to provide dental care at your child’s school. This week, Seal A Smile visited Mountaineers at Berlin Elementary School to demonstrate proper brushing and flossing techniques and discuss why they are important. The special guests also talked about why these habits are essential for one’s overall health. Berlin CSD will be inviting Seal a Smile back to offer free dental care to Mountaineers who return permission forms. Please find more information below.
With permission from their parent/guardian, children in your school will be able to receive a dental screening, cleaning, fluoride treatment and, when appropriate, dental sealants* and intraoral images* from a Registered Dental Hygienist. We can also complete a Student Oral Health Report for parents and to share with the school nurse, again with your consent, to address the Dental Health Certificate New York State is requesting all students in grades K, 2, 4, 7 & 10 have completed by an oral health professional.
Please find full details and a fillable consent form attached below. Forms were also backpacked home at BES this week. Please return the form to Mrs. Corsey via email mcorsey@berlincentral. org or by turning them into your students Main Office.
