I want you to ask yourself this question – How much do I actually know about social media?

As parents, most of you have lived through the start of social media. Things like Myspace, Livejournal, AOL Instant messenger, MSN Messenger, the beginning of Facebook, MyYearbook etc.

But have you kept up with it? Do you know how much it has changed? What about the effects of having access to it all day long right in your pocket? Back in the day we had to boot up the computer and hope nobody needed the phone. Now? We have access 24/7/365. How does this affect us? And more importantly, how does social media affect our children?   –BMHS Counselor Mr. Shaw

The Berlin Community Book Club is reading “The Anxious Generation” by Jonathan Haidt and will be meeting at the Berlin Elementary School Library for a Book Talk on Wednesday April 1st at 6pm. If you have not read the book, but you are curious about it, there are a limited number of copies through our local libraries.
