This week is National School Counseling Week! This year’s theme is ‘School Counselors Amplify Student Success.’ Each year, the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) presents this week with a theme to help highlight the impact and roles school counselors play in students’ long-term planning, academic achievement, and social-emotional learning and support. School counselors have a tremendous impact in helping students achieve school success and plan for their future.
Berlin Central School District would like to take a moment to recognize our school counselors: Ryan Steller, Berlin Elementary School Counselor; James Taylor-Shaw, Berlin Middle School Counselor; and Savanna Caldwell, Berlin High School Counselor. Please take a moment to join us in sharing our gratitude and honoring the work our school counselors do for our school community day in and day out. Thank you BCSD School Counselors!
Though this week is to honor our school counselors, we would also like to recognize the whole BCSD Counseling Department, who work collaboratively to ensure Mountaineers feel a well-rounded support system when planning for their future and achieving their goals.
Thank you, BCSD Counseling Department: Ryan Steller, Berlin Elementary School Counselor; James Taylor-Shaw, Berlin Middle School Counselor; Savanna Caldwell, Berlin High School Counselor; Rachel Teplitsky, Berlin Elementary School Psychologist; Liam Magann, Berlin Middle High School Psychologist; Jen Poli, Berlin Middle High School Social Worker; Shayna Davner, Student Assistance Counselor, Berlin Central School District/Rensselaer County Mental Health Prevention Services; and Christine Demick, BMHS Counseling Office Secretary and Registrar.
