Berlin High School Mountaineer Musicians from the Chamber Choir and Jazz Band visited Rensselaer County’s Everett Wagar Senior Center in Grafton, NY last Thursday, December 4th. Find a video highlighting the visit below.
Under the direction of Mrs. Gretchen Modesitt (Chamber Choir) and Mrs. Jessica Gould (Jazz Band), the students performed holiday favorites, spreading holiday cheer through their music and making meaningful connections with the greater community.
Berlin CSD Superintendent Mr. Ken Rizzo attended the Mountaineers’ performance and was impressed by their musicianship and proud to see the students engaged in giving back to their community.
Berlin CSD thanks Everett Wagar Senior Center Director Lisa Overocker for coordinating the performance during their holiday luncheon. The district would also like to congratulate Ms. Overocker on receiving the Community Partner Award from the Arc of Rensselaer County for her programming work and dedication.
Ms. Overocker generously coordinated a donation from the Senior Center to the Berlin Music Department and presented it to the Mountaineer Musicians after their performance.
Thank you, Everett Wagar Senior Center Community.
Thanks also go to Mrs. Gould and Mrs. Modesitt for the day-to-day work they do to bring up the level of musicianship in our Mountaineers, and to our wonderful Mountaineer Musicians.
Berlin High School Principal Mr. David Bernsley hopes to see the community tonight at the Berlin High School Winter Concert beginning at 6 pm in the Berlin Middle High School auditorium and next Wednesday, December 17th for the Middle School Winter Concert.
Go Mountaineers Musicians!
