Congratulations to the Berlin Central School District’s Business Office team, which includes School Business Official Ms. Colleen Mills, District Treasurer Ms. Tara Fisher, Payroll and Human Resources Ms. Sherri Kellar-Willis, Executive Secretary/District Clerk Ms. Dawn Demick, and Central Services Clerk Ms. Darcy McCooey, for being the 2025 recipient of the Collaborative Excellence Award!
This prestigious recognition, sponsored by The Association of School Business Officials of New York (ASBO), reflects the outstanding teamwork and collaboration of the Business Office.
According to ASBO, this newly formed team has rebuilt trust and stability in the Berlin Central School District, established sound financial processes, ensured compliance, and brought a renewed sense of professionalism and purpose to their work.
“Truer words have never been spoken – I am proud of every member of this team and applaud their dedication to the district and our students,” said Berlin CSD Superintendent Mr. Ken Rizzo, when sharing the news with the BCSD Staff.
The Collaborative Excellence Award, sponsored by Valley National Bank, celebrates the collective achievements of the entire School Business Office team, recognizing outstanding teamwork and unwavering collaboration. The award honors the team’s commitment to the furtherment of students and learning through exemplary financial management, serving as a testament to the business office team’s shared commitment to excellence.
The Berlin Central School District Business Office team received the award last month during New York’s Annual Association of School Business Officials conference, where they were honored by their peers from around NY State.
A donation of $1,500 in their names has been awarded to the district’s business office for use to purchase equipment or offer a scholarship.
