Fourth-grade Mountaineers in Mrs. Wolfe, Mrs. Laz, and Mrs. Bersaw’s classes recently took a field trip to the New York State Museum. During their time at the museum, the students mainly focused on the Native American exhibits, which tied in with and enriched their current unit of study. The Mountaineers also took time to explore the vast amount of information and exhibits about New York State that the museum offered. The students especially loved the full-sized carousel on the top floor of the museum, made between 1912 and 1916 by the Herschell-Spillman Company of North Tonawanda, New York. The Mountaineers were also very curious and engaged in the New York City exhibits. It was a wonderful exploration of New York State for the Mountaineers. Thank you to the BCSD Transportation Department for making this opportunity possible for the students.
