The BNL Cross Country Team traveled to Queensbury on Tuesday, October 28th, 2025, to compete in the Wasaren League Championships.
The Varsity Boys faced competitive teams, including Mechanicville (6-0) and Tamarac/Hoosick Falls (5-1), whom they had lost to during the mid-season and had a record of 4-2. However, the BNL Varsity Boys swept them away and took home 1st place for the 2025 Wasaren League Championship. Leading the varsity boys were John Savaria (3rd), Seth Hendricks (4th), Joey Zvirzdin (7th), Maddox Southard (16th), Corbin Southard (19th), Ronan Whelan (24th), Luke Spears (29th), Adam Ford (37th), and Rockim Minkler (46th).
Congratulations to John Savaria, Seth Hendricks, and Joey Zvirzdin, who made the 2025 Cross Country Wasaren League All-Stars. The Varsity Boys proudly took home the 2025 Wasaren League Championship Plaque. This win truly reflects their hard work and grit this season.
Our Varsity Girl, Lorali Spears, ran a great race, finishing 17th overall. Lorali has been an excellent force representing the girls as the only varsity girl this season, staying focused on her goals and running high-quality races.
Leading the modified boys were Braydon Griswold (2nd), Otis Corbett (5th), and Damian DiDonato (6th). Our Modified Boys have been digging deep this season, and we are so proud of their commitment, progress, and results.
Our Modified Girl runner, Autumn Fredericks, finished 3rd overall! Autumn has been running as the only girls’ modified runner for BNL this season and has been doing an outstanding job this season, running her best each time she hits the course.
Coach Saunders is super proud of all the runners’ hard work and accomplishments. The one word Coach Saunders drills with the Cross Country Team is ‘Determination.’ The Cross Country team will travel to Galway to compete in the Bob Tree Farms Invitational this Saturday, November 1st. – Coach Saunders
