The BNL Cross Country team hosted their first league and only meet for the 2025 season. Along with the BNL home meet, they held their senior recognition. Coach Saunders announced the two seniors, Seth Hendricks and Luke Spears. This is Seth’s 3rd and Luke’s 1st season running Cross Country. They will be missed, and Coach Saunders wishes them the best of luck. Coach Saunders is glad to have been able to coach the two runners for the 2025 season.
The BNL Cross Country team ran against the following schools: Emma Willard, Hoosic Valley, and Saratoga Spa Catholic.
The BNL Varsity Boys finished on top and beat Hoosic Valley 18 to 42 (the lowest score wins). Leading the boys’ varsity was John Savaria, finishing in 1st place with a time of 17:40. BNL senior Seth Hendricks helped the team out and finished strong in second place with a time of 19:06. Maddox Southard finished in 5th place with a time of 20:35, and Ronan Whelan finished in 6th place with a time of 20:39. The fifth runner for the team was Corbin Southard, and he finished in 7th place with a time of 20:57.
BNL’s senior Luke Spears finished in 10th place with a time of 23:41.
There were strong finishes by Finn Buckenroth, David Ovitt, Adam Ford, and Rockim Minkler.
Our Varsity Girl Lorali Spears ran a competitive race and finished in 9th place.
The BNL Cross Country Modified Girl and Boys ran a great race. Braydon Griswold led the team and the race, finishing in 1st place with a time of 9:12. Otis Corbett helped out with a strong finish by placing 3rd with a time of 12:06. Autumn Fredricks led the modified girls’ race and finished in 1st place with a time of 10:33. Awesome job to all BNL Modified and Varsity Cross Country Teams.
The Cross Country team travels to Galway this Saturday, 9/20. The next league meet will be on Tuesday, 9/23, at Hoosic Valley.
