Mrs. Colbert’s Studio in Art classes finished up their Architecture/Sculpture Unit where students had to work collaboratively in a group to create a commercial property design. Always looking to connect to real life applications, students learned about the field of architecture and what successful 3D design looks like, as well as how to use various mixed media (plaster, cardboard, foam, wire, air dry clays). Students also practiced the difficult skill of working as a team on a shared goal and how to balance differing ideas. Their models will be on display in the main foyer of the MSHS – come check them out!
Studio in Art is the foundational high school art course for Grades 9-12 and the prerequisite for all other HS art coursework, where students get a taste of all the major media areas of the visual arts.
