This week, BES has been celebrating Autism Awareness. During the monthly assembly last week, Mrs. Baker and 5th-grade Mountaineer Marissa Childs shared the daily themes of the spirit week with all BES Mountaineers.
Today, dress like your favorite superhero! Tomorrow 4/11 wear all the colors of the rainbow.
On Tuesday, it was puzzle piece day, and students in Mrs. Baker’s Shooting Stars classroom and Mrs. Fleming’s Bright Stars classroom worked on a school community project creating puzzle piece necklaces for all BES Mountaineers. The students also took orders from staff and students who requested extra necklaces. Mrs. Baker would like to thank the school community for their support during BES’ Autism Awareness Spirit week. The Stars students and staff created 668 necklaces for the community project/fundraiser, making $167.23. With the money raised, the program will purchase fidgets for each classroom. Stay tuned for them to arrive in classrooms soon. -Thank you from all the Star Staff and Students
Way to go Mountaineers!!
