Mountaineers Compete at Capital Region Middle School Science Olympiad
The Berlin Middle School Science Olympiad team competed at the Capital Region Middle School Science Olympiad in mid-February. This year’s team worked for endless hours to prepare for their build events and science tests; they brought home medals in air trajectory, tower, ecology, helicopter, meteorology, and Road Scholar.

Middle School Mountaineers’ Capital Region Science Bowl Recap
The Berlin Middle School Science Bowl team competed on Saturday, March 1st, at the Capital Region Science Bowl at the GE Research Center in Niskayuna. The Middle School Mountaineers, Rachel Smith, Savannah Hammon, Kailani Sergent, Luke Turetsky, and Roddy Gardell, worked well together in the trivia portion of the Science Bowl and secured second place in the gravity-powered car race, where they designed a ramp and car in the weeks leading up to the event. Congratulations to the team!
