National School Counseling Week 2025, “School Counseling: Helping Students Thrive,” sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), is celebrated from Feb. 3–7, 2025. Its focus is to bring the public’s attention to the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems and how students are different as a result of what school counselors do.

“School counselors work with all students to remove barriers to learning by addressing students’ academic concerns, career options and social/emotional skills,” said Jill Cook, ASCA executive director. “School counseling programs help to increase student achievement and provide a much-needed resource for students, parents, teachers and administrators. School counselors are integral to student success.”

This week is to honor our School Counselors, Berlin CSD would also like to make sure to shout out the whole BCSD Counseling Team who work collaboratively to ensure Mountaineers feel a well rounded support system when planning for their future and achieving their goals both long term and day to day.

Thank you BCSD Counseling Team: Ryan Steller, Berlin Elementary School Counselor; James Taylor-Shaw, Berlin Middle School Counselor; Rachel Harrison, Berlin High School Counselor; Rachel Teplitsky, Berlin Elementary School Psychologist; Jen Poli Berlin Middle High School Social Worker; and Christine Demick, BMHS Counseling Office Secretary and Registrar.
