Berlin Middle High School staff and students kicked off the day with a lively morning arrival, where staff dressed up to welcome students. Assistant Principal Mrs. Reynolds was treated to a special security detail by Special Agents Weaver and Viner. The morning was filled with fun and spirit. The BMHS staff sends wishes for a safe and happy Halloween to all BMHS Mountaineers. Find an album from the morning below.
Berlin Elementary School had Halloween fun today too! The elementary school students were welcomed off the buses by BMHS band members performing Halloween music selections. Thanks go to BMHS Music and Band teacher Mrs. Gould, the Mountaineer musicians, and BCSD Transportation staff for making the morning fun possible. The BCSD Food Service staff also got into the Halloween spirit, offering Mummy Dogs, Frankenstein Fries, candy corn fruit, and Mott’s Halloween fruit treats to everyone receiving a meal at both schools. Thanks to BCSD Food Service and all BES Mountaineers and BES Staff for a fun and safe school day. Wishing all Mountaineers a safe and fun Halloween evening. Find photos from BES here.
Thank you Mrs. Davis for the photo on Bus 56!
On October 31st, BES 2nd teachers Mrs. Kneer, Mrs. Healy, Mrs. Tregger and Mrs. Ruebel set up Halloween-themed science stations in each classroom. The Mountaineers rotated through stations like Spooky States of Matter, Solids/Liquids/Gases, and Monster Mash. Near the end of the day, students wrapped up with a focus on Bat Week, which they had been celebrating throughout the week. Bat Week is an international celebration of bats’ role in nature, happening during the last week of October. Mr. Tregger, a licensed wildlife removal technician specializing in bats, visited the classroom to teach students about bats, their adaptations, and importance to our ecosystem. Students viewed a real bat skeleton and shared their knowledge, sparking a lively bat discussion. Thank you Mr. Tregger, for visiting our 2nd-grade Mountaineers again this year.
