BNL Varsity Girls Soccer vs Emma Willard Coach Recap 10/3
Congratulations to the BNL Varsity Girls soccer team for winning their senior night last night 3-0 over Emma Willard. The Lady Mountain Lions used skills and cunning to break down the Jesters, opening the scoring when Madison Bell slotted home the first goal off of a Haylee Jones through ball. BNL kept mounting the pressure, as a Haylee Jones free kick almost hits the far corner of the goal, but Alex Pierce was able to put the rebound away just before halftime. The second half was a battle for both teams but eventually BNL was able to add their third off a Haylee Jones penalty kick to close out the game. Congratulations and thank you to all the seniors! The Lady Mountain Lions continue their regular season for two more weeks before sectional play begins.
BNL Modified Girls Soccer vs Stillwater Coach Recap 10/3
BNL Modified girls soccer continue on their winning streak taking the win against Stillwater 8-3
Savannah Hammond with a hat trick 3 goals assisted by Mia MacMillen, Ariel Thomas, and Kathy Wu, Mia MacMillen with 2 goals assisted by Ariel Thomas and Kaitlyn Perrault, Riley Foss with1 goal, Chloe Hart with 1 goal…and my personal favorite goal of the game, the first goal was made off of a perfect corner kick by Chloe Hart, Ariel Thomas was perfectly positioned in front of the goal chested the ball into the goal, another lesson for this coach that they really are listening, at that moment I was positive this was going to be a great game.
These ladies played so well together passing talking backing each other up, with nothing but positive encouragement coming from the field the entire game. We have hard games coming up the rest of our season and we will be working extremely hard at practice this next week to keep our record in the league as undefeated. BNL Mountain Lions Varsity Volleyball faced off tonight against the Hoosic Valley Hawks, one of the best teams in the Waserran. Our scrappy mountain lions clawed all night improving their score each set but coming up just short 14-25, 18-25, 22-25. Alexis Rifenburg led the offense with 11 assists and 3 aces. Freshman Aarianna Degroff had her best offensive game of the season on her birthday adding 7 Kills. Keep working hard ladies. -Coach Van Vorst
BNL JV Girls Volleyball vs Hoosic Valley Coach Recap 10/2
On Wednesday, BNL JV Volleyball had a home game against Hoosic Valley in which they put up a great fight. Jade Baldwin scored 5 aces and had an amazing service run that brought the team’s score up by 9 points in the second set.
BNL JV Boys Soccer Coach Recap 10/2
The BNL Boys JV Soccer team played a good game against Greenwich away on 10/2. It was 2 – 0 at the half with Gabe Smith fending off 10 shots on goal. BNL put multiple shots on goal as well but just missed scoring. BNL came out united in the 2nd half to keep the Witch’s scoreless until fatigue set in at the 70th minute. Gabe added 12 more saves including stopping a PK. – Coach Burhans
BNL Modified Boys Soccer Coach Recap 10/1
The BNL boys modified soccer escaped with the win against Waterford with the score of 6-5… the Mountain Lions were dominant until the very last quarter and allowed Waterford to catch up. The Mountain Lions’ very own Gunnar Powers put up 3 goals and 2 assists… Trent Hasting, Rowan Meyson and Nick Meyers each had 1 goal….Congratulations Mountain Lions!-Coach Anthony

Moving forward with a 4-1 overall , 4-0 league record the Modified Lady Mountain Lions fought a great game against Waterford Halfmoon …with the win 3-2
Savannah Hammon started us off with the first goal with an assist from Mia MacMillen, Kaiden Siciliano put one in the net with an assist from Mia MacMillen in the last quarter Mia MacMillen landed the last and winning goal off of a gorgeous corner kick from Chloe Hart.
Waterford Halfmoon scored in the 1st and 2 quarters.
The ladies played an excellent game of soccer with teamwork and passing to win…not gonna lie I couldn’t stop smiling at the way they played today… well done ladies well done. -Coach Dodge
BNL JV Boys Soccer vs Coxsackie Coach Recap 9/30
The BNL Boys JV soccer team hosted Coxsackie Athens on the Berlin field. The boys played a stronger defensive game and held CA to 2 in the first half. Gabe Smith was in goal for BNL and turned away multiple hard shots. BNL had a goal overturned by a tuff handball call that would have kept the game close. BNL had several runs on goal but just couldn’t finish and catch up. The boys are away Wednesday but return Friday at 6.30 on the NL field.

BNL Girls Modified Soccer vs Stillwater Coach Recap 9/27
The girls modified soccer team with a new record of 3-1 took the win away from their Friday afternoon game in Stillwater. The team played down to a 9 v 9 game.
Savannah Hammon scored the first goal from a corner kick by Chloe Hart. The second goal was Ariel Thomas with the assist by Katelyn Perreault. The third and final goal was an almost half field shot by Mia MacMillen

BNL Boys Modified Soccer vs Stillwater Coach Recap 9/27
The BNL boys modified soccer improved to 2-1 after their win against Stillwater! The game was fairly even throughout the first quarter which ended 0-0. BNL found the back of the net first with Rowan Meyson with the assist from Gunnar Powers. Stillwater bounced back with a PK to even out the score. A very impressive showing from our defense and our goalie Ryland Crowley who would have 13 saves at the end of the game. Trent Hastings and Gunnar Powers both had 2 goals to win the game 5-2. Congratulations Boys! – Coach Prather
