On June 1st, the Berlin Middle High School Art Department held their annual Arts Alive! Celebration, which included the summative Art Exhibit for Art Students Grades 6-12, the National Art Honor Society Induction Ceremony, musical performances, and Empty Bowls Fundraisers to benefit the Berkshire Bird Paradise. A new addition this year was the first Annual Poetry Cafe, a collaboration put on by the ELA, Music and Art Departments, where students and teachers read their own original poems to celebrate the written arts as well.
Fantastic job by all of our artists and poets this year! -Mrs. Colbert and Ms. DeCelle BMHS Art Educators
If you missed the art show, please find Mrs. Colbert’s album below.
Thank you, Ms. Kabir, for spearheading the Poetry Cafe, Ms. Marbot for MCing the cafe and the BMHS ELA Department for sharing their work and encouraging their students to do the same. It was wonderful for the teachers to hear feedback from students who are now excited to share their work at next year’s cafe.
Many thanks to Mrs. Gould and Ms. Eliashuk’s students for their musical performances throughout the evening.
BMHS Principal Brownell and Assistant Principal Ferullo are grateful to all the families, faculty and community members who came out to support the Arts at BMHS and would like to shoutout the faculty who encouraged and mentored the Mountaineer Artist throughout the school year!
