Mrs. Colbert’s Sculpture and Ceramics classes of art students traveled to Salem Art Works (SAW) in Salem, NY for a special field trip on Monday 5/1. Students were able to choose two of three hands-on workshops: Raku (wood-fired) Ceramics, Glassblowing or Blacksmithing. It was a cold, windy, rainy day, but our Mountaineers powered through and got to learn some different artistic processes! Thank you to Mrs. Brownell and the District for providing this opportunity, Mr. Trevor Jewett (parent and BOE member) for attending as a chaperone, Rick for driving us and to the amazing staff at SAW! Looking forward to making this an annual opportunity for our 3D Art students. – Mrs. Colbert
