The BNL Boys and Girls XC competed last night at the Wasaren League Championship race at Grafton Lakes State Park.
The Modified Boys and Girls Cross Country team had a strong showing at our Wasaren League Championships. John Savaria led our boys with a strong 2nd place finish with a time of 9:52, Blake Arena followed in 3rd with 10:29.72, and Richard Bachner was 5th after a hard fall with a time of 10:54.83. Thank you to Anthony Wood and Finn Buckenroth for coming out to support the team despite their injuries. You all improved not only physically this season, but as young men outside of running as well.
For Modified Girls we have Grace Kalisz who led the whole entire girls group and got 1st in 11:31.48, and we also had Neema Muturi who got 3rd with a time of 14:42.97. Super proud of both of them for joining in late, and still accomplishing so much. -Coach DeLuca
Leading the pack for the Varsity Boys was Gabriel Kalisz in 2nd with a time of 15:25. Behind him came the Berlin Wall of Raymond Ericson 11th, Lance Schroeder 12th, Aidan Van Dyk 13th, Seth Hendricks 14th, and Daniel Hendricks in 16th. In an amazing sprint to the finish that had everyone cheering was Eben Donohue 30th. The boys entered the season with high hopes and ran their hardest, but Stillwater managed to get the numbers they needed to take first and BNL received 2nd for the season by just 1 win.

Congratulations to the BNL Varsity Boys
who made Wasaren League All-Stars Gabriel Kalisz, Raymond Ericson, Lance Schroeder, Aidan Van Dyk and Seth Hendricks!
Good race boys, the coaches are proud of you!

Leading the Varsity Girls team was Allura Meizinger in 3rd, Elsie Corbett in 8th, Vivian Whelan in 18th, and Elaine Savaria in 44th. While they did not have enough to place as a team both Allura and Elsie placed as Wasaren League All-Stars. Now we head to sectionals where the girls have a serious chance of sending runners to states! Good job all! -Coach Viner and Coach DeCarciofolo
