Mrs. Healy and Mrs. Tregger’s 2nd Grade Classroom Works on Suffixes

BES students in Mrs. Healy and Mrs. Tregger’s 2nd grade classroom have been working on suffixes and discovering why plural words end in the ways that they do (adding s, es, or ies). Students worked together to uncover the rules for plurals themselves. Way to go 2nd grade Mountaineers!
The 2nd graders also had a a little celebration for their TA Mrs. Brooks (now Mrs. Russell) this week, they wrote cards and celebrated with cupcakes. It was a great afternoon. -Mrs. Tregger & Mrs. Healy

BES Fourth Grade Socials

The BES Fourth Grade Team is taking time to build community each month across the entire grade level. This is giving teachers and students time to get to know each other and build relationships and community outside of our classrooms. – The Fourth Grade Team Ms. Laz, Ms. Bersaw, Ms. Kneer and Ms. Mulvey

6th Graders Think Like Archaeologists

In Mrs. Hammersmith’s 6th grade Social Studies class students have been discussing how to think like an archaeologist. Today the students conducted an archaeological dig and had a class discussion about what the artifacts could tell us about the mysterious society that lived on campus many years ago. It was determined that this group of people were an advanced civilization with a written language, form of government, money and trade. Great work 6th grade Mountaineers! -Mrs. Hammersmith
