Retirees and Tenured Employees
The evening of June 21, 2022 in the Berlin Middle/High School Library, was filled with gratitude for the District’s retirees and enthusiasm in welcoming the next generation of dedicated staff.

I have been the 9th Grade Global I teacher since the 2019-2020 school year.
What do you take the most pride in or are most passionate about with regard to your many accomplishments in the education field?
I think I am most proud of the little things that occur in the classroom. Getting a kid to get engaged with something they weren’t previously interested in or to teach a lesson that gets my students really excited. Those are the things that I take the most pride in.

I grew up here in the BCSD community and I’d like to pay back the wonderful opportunities I was able to have here to future generations.

School Psychologist at the Berlin Middle High School. Prior to Berlin, I supported students in special class settings with significant emotional and behavioral disorders, as well as worked in residential treatment facilities.

Four years.
What do you take the most pride in or are most passionate about with regard to your many accomplishments in the education field?
I take the most pride in the relationships and connections I have with students and the impact I have had on their educational experiences. I am passionate about mental health and mental health awareness and advocating for resources and services to serve adolescents and children. The last two years highlighted the importance and substantive role mental health and well-being bares on an individual’s ability to cope with daily life, including our youth.
What is one of the goals you have for your years ahead at BCSD?
I have a lot of ideas and long-term goals – one of the short-term goals I have is to teach students about mental health legislation and political advocacy for mental health services, careers in the mental health field, and hopefully attend the Mental Health Matters Legislative Day at the state capital in Albany again.
