BNL Varsity Boys Soccer vs Cambridge 10/1
BNL Boys Soccer Senior Night on Friday, October 1, did not disappoint with a 2-0 win over Cambridge. The Berlin/New Lebanon Varsity Soccer team carries ten seniors this season and it was a wonderful night to celebrate their time on the  team.  The engine of the team, Danny Hunt, created many chances and linked up countless passes.  Wyatt Powers was a motivational force and encouraged his teammates to excel.  Goals were scored by Gabriel Hart, and Owen Kane.  Kevin Chittenden had a great day in the goal, working well with a defense led by Garrett Votra, and Ben Chaput.  Congrats boys!

Berlin-New Lebanon Varsity Cross Country Meet at Tawasentha Park 10/2

The Berlin-New Lebanon Varsity XC team had an incredible Saturday at Tawasentha Park in Guilderland. The course was a tough uphill battle, but our team is known for eating hills for breakfast. I mean, look at where they all grew up!

To start the races off with some excitement, Lance Shroder raced in his first ever Freshman Boys invitational race after recently being moved up to the Varsity XC team. He ran a 1.7 mile course with an 11:56 time. He placed 19th overall in his race. Way to go Lance! We are so excited to see you grow this season.

The gun sounded for the Varsity girls race, and those BNL girls came out as strong as ever in their 2.8 mile course. Elsie Corbett came in first place overall in the small school division with a 19:34 and Allura Meizinger came in right next to her taking second place with a 19:44. The BNL girls stuck together through the very end, pushing each other into the finish line. Sadie Giumarra came in strong, taking 4th place. As well as Brady Hills coming in right behind her in 5th place, and Ava Noel with 6th place. The BNL Girls Varsity team took home a well-deserved large first place trophy. They placed 1st against all of the Small School teams.

The Boys Varsity team raced with the same strength and passion in every stride. First year XC runner Gabe Kalisz placed 4th overall against the small schools with a 17:48. Matthew Kluck finished right behind him, taking 5th place with a 17:54. With incredible determination for a successful season, Aidan Vandyk is closing the gap with his 7th place and 19:27 time. The Boys team’s hard work paid off as they took home 3rd place for the small school teams!

More to come soon!! Please join us for our home meet and senior night at Berlin MHS this Tuesday @4:15.
